Going the Extra Mile: Perspectives on Assessment, Management and Performance of Runners 

The purpose of this course is to provide evidence-based perspectives on assessment, management, and performance of the running athlete. Topics to be discussed will include diagnosis and management of common running injuries, the biomechanics of running, clinical assessment of the runner, running gait analysis and retraining, injury prevention, training factors, special populations, and performance enhancement. Attendees will have the opportunity to practice running gait assessment, running gait retraining, and runner-specific exercise progressions.

The course is approved for 16 continuing education hours through the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board.
